Jonas is an active nine year old who started having knee pain that was attributed to growing pains. On Christmas Jonas woke up and couldn’t move his leg! He was diagnosed on December 29, 2016 with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer). It was discovered that the pain was caused from the tumor growing inside the bone that it eventually became fractured.
Jonas’ first surgery was to replace his femur, knee and hip bone. He is now in the chemo phase of treatment and will then be scheduled for two additional surgeries to remove tumors that have spread to his lungs.
Jonas was shocked when his hair started coming out in patches. He has now adjusted to his baldness and doesn’t mind his new look.
