LeahLeah’s Story

When I was 38 weeks pregnant I was involved in a car accident where my placenta separated and Leah started losing oxygen. I had an emergency C-section and Leah was born dead but was revived within one minute. She was in NICU for 59 days and when she was ready to go home we discovered that she also had cerebral palsy. Six months later Leah was diagnosed with 5 tumors in her kidney, called Wilm’s Tumor. Leah started chemo treatments in January 2019. In June the tumors were removed along with one of her kidneys and half of the other kidney. Leah then experienced hair loss. This was most difficult for me as her Mom as hair loss is a sign of cancer but she looks beautiful!
