Layla’s Story

At the age of 20 I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in September 2021. I was depressed and felt alone. My Mom had died earlier that year and I felt like everything was spiraling out of control. My treatment has been tough and I didn’t realize how bad cancer could be. Cancer has taken away my independence and impacted my self-esteem, mental and physical health. I feel like I have come so far from when I was first diagnosed, I’ve grown from this experience and feel like I can handle what happens. I am thankful for my large family and all of the staff who care for me.
