William’s Story
William was 15 when we received his diagnosis of AML. He started treatment immediately, starting with a port, chemotherapy and of course inpatient. He celebrated his 16th birthday, Thanksgiving and Christmas in the hospital.
William has been strong through his treatments, keeping busy with his xbox, dungeons and dragons, nerf guns, putting toys together for the “ littles” on the unit. He has been a mentor of sorts, saying hello to them during his laps, delivering snowballs to the other kids when it snowed, and all the kids could not go outside.
We have great support, and his cousins visit frequently, along with his school friends. William is continuing his treatment, and is about to go into the 5th chemo cycle.
He dreams of traveling, and maybe music and recording technology in the future. He is a quiet, protective, honest and strong young man. We are forever proud of our Warrior.
