Skye’s Story
After complaining of leg pain for several weeks that had been misdiagnosed, once as muscle strains and once as a urinary tract infection, Skye was confirmed to have leukemia (ALL) on her little brother’s second birthday (July of 2016).
Once the grueling initial first month of treatment was complete Skye began to perk up and be more like her old self. In the hospital she went from barely moving to walking after just one chemo treatment and now, the lethargy and disinterest in life caused by heavy steroids has lifted. Skye now finds joy in drawing, writing, reading and even riding her bike.
We are nearing the maintenance phase of her three year treatment protocol and now see that there is light at the end of the tunnel!
