Dayna’s Story

My name is Dayna and I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia when I was 25. My first baby was just three months old when I was diagnosed. My treatment has all been in-patient and my husband has been able to be off work so he can be with me during treatment. We are grateful that Wyatt, our baby, has been able to be cared for by his grandmother when we are at the hospital. When I lost my hair my bossiest concern was that Wyatt may not recognize me, to my surprise he still knew who his Mom was. I lost some confidence once my eyebrows and eyelashes started falling out. Although I don’t feel like myself, I love the thought of documenting my story to Wyatt as he gets older.
