Renata’s Story
Renata was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in August 2024. She also has Down Syndrome, and her cancer diagnosis brought many changes to her life. Throughout it all, she has been blessed with care and support that help her each day. During her second cycle of chemotherapy, Renata began to lose her hair. While walking the oncology floor, she saw photos of other “bald beauties” on the wall. With gentle reassurance from her dad that her hair would grow back, she embraced it with courage. Renata loved dressing up for her photos, and her joyful spirit continues to shine brightly, touching everyone she meets.
