Serena’s Story
I was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at 20 years of age, just a few weeks before my 21st birthday. Throughout my first two rounds of chemo and four month my hair had thinned but had not completely fallen out. I had faith that I would keep my hair and was careful not to brush and wash it often, I was really struggling with the thought of losing my hair as it was out of my control. Ultimately, I decided to take control and have my brother cut my hair and then shave it off. This was the moment that I embraced my new look.
